Slapjack Card Game

Slapjack card game is great for very young children as the only requirement is that they can recognize the Jack card.

Object

To win all the cards.

Number of players

2 or more

Equipment

One deck of 52 playing cards. Two decks should be used if there are four or more players.

Set up

Shuffle the cards.
Deal all the cards out, one at a time and face down. it doesn't matter if some players have more cards than others.

To play

The first player grabs the top card from his pile and places it face up in the center of the table where all players can see and reach it. If the face up card is anything but a jack, the next player turns over his top card placing it on top of the previous players card. Play continues until a jack is turned up.

When a jack is turned over, try to be the first person to place your hand over it. With several people playing the game, your hand will likely get slapped a few times during the game!
The player who slapped the jack first get the pile and adds it to the bottom of their stack.

Play continues until someone has all the cards.

Penalty: If a player slaps a card that is not a jack, he must give his top card to the player whose card he slapped in error.

Winning the game

The game is won when one player ends up with all the cards.
A time limit can also be put on the game in which case the player with the most cards at the end of the designated time wins the slapjack card game.

A Fun Spin On Slapjack

For a fun version of the game:
Players use only their right hand to flip over cards and only their left hand to slap the jacks.
Players caught using their right hand to slap a jack, must give the pile to the player who played the jack.
