Red Light Green Light stop and go action that is fun
Red light green light is best played outdoors but can be enjoyed indoors too. 
Dress up the Traffic Police Officer in a hat and let them blow a whistle during the game to add a more realistic feel to the game. Use a ping pong paddle with red paint on one side and green paint on the other to play the game indoors. You could even use two separate paddles, one green and one red. Object of gameTo be the first person to tag the Traffic Police Officer without getting caught.
Number of players3 or moreEquipment A large playing area Chalk or 2 long pieces of ropeSet upLay the rope pieces parallel to each other a good distance apart on the play area. Pick one player to be the Police OfficerThe Police Officer should stand behind one of the lines and the rest of the players behind the other one, facing the Police Officer. How to playThe Police Officer turns around so his back is facing the others and shouts "Green Light." He counts to five out loud as quickly as he can. The other players must run quickly towards the Police Officer.When the Police Officer reaches five, he should shout "Red Light" and turn around. The players should freeze instantly when they hear the phrase Red Light. If a player is caught moving by the Police Officer, they must return to the starting line. Winning the gameThe winner is the person who can make it across the line that the Police Officer is standing behind. This person can then take the position of the Police Officer and start a new round of the game.VariationsProvide each child with a whistle and have the Police Officer blow the whistle instead of calling Red Light, Green Light.Have the children who are heading back to the starting line hop, skip or jump their way back to the line.
