Bats are the only flying mammal.

They do help keep the insect populations reduced.
There is a vampire bat that feeds on the blood of other living creatures, but it is not one that changes into human form.

Cats

Cats were once held in high regard in Egypt. Cats of any color were considered sacred.
During the middle ages cats were perceived as mysterious and considered liaisons between the devil and witches. Witches were thought to be able to transform into the shape of a black cat.
Soon black cats were considered bad luck and evil so people started fearing them.
