If only two people are playing, deal seven cards to each. The remaining cards are placed face down in the center of the table, this pile is the draw pile. The top card from the draw pile is turned face up and placed beside it, this forms the discard pile. How to play crazy eightsThe player to the left of the dealer begins by playing one card face up on the discard pile. This card must match the previous card either by suit or value. If the discard pile's card is a seven of diamonds, any diamond card or seven card can be place on it.If the player can't match the card in the discard pile by suit or value, she must take cards one by one from the draw pile until she finds one to play. All eights are wild; one can be played regardless of what card is showing in the discard pile. When an eight is laid onto the discard pile, the player call out what suit they want the next card to be. If the discard pile is showing a six of clubs and the player places an eight of diamonds on the discard pile, he may call the suit to be hearts or even spades.
