Cat Eyes
Preschool Halloween Game

Cat Eyes is a variation of a classic childrens' birthday party game.

Halloween cat eyes

Children are blindfolded one at a time and try to place the eyes on the cat in the proper place.

The game can be made using materials found around the house.

The back side of roll wrapping paper is perfect to use for drawing the cat shape on. It's a great way to recycle something you don't plan on using again.

Object of game

Place the eyes on the cat as closely to the correct position as possible.

Number of players

2 or More

Equipment

Poster board
Black markers or paint
Blindfold
One package round self-adhesive tags (yellow or orange)
Masking tape
Scrap of pink construction paper

Set up

Draw the outline of a cat face on the poster board. You can do this, it's just a large circle with two triangles on top!
Color in the face completely using paint or markers.
Add a pink nose either using paint or construction paper.
Draw whiskers with a piece of white chalk.

Mark a starting line on the floor using masking tape.

Attach the cat drawing to the wall.

How to play

The round self-adhesive labels are the cats' eyes, give two to each child.

Blindfold the first person and turn them around three times before aiming them towards the cat.

The object is to put the eyes in the proper spot on the cats' face.

Winning the game

The person placing the cat eyes closest to the correct spot wins.

Variations and Tips

Write the children's names on the eyes with an ink pen so you can tell who got the eyes closest. If you have a small group, you could even use a separate color for each child.

Draw a side view of a cat and give each child only one eye to try and place in the correct spot.
