Bat Volleyball
Preschool Halloween Game

Bat Volleyball for a batting good time for kids of all ages.

Balloons are amazing, they are inexpensive yet can serve so many purposes. They can be used for decorations, to spread cheer and make games fun.

This Halloween game is easy to set up and will keep the kids giggling and excited.

Keep track of how long the kids can keep the balloon floating through the air and offer special treats for beating their best times.


Object of game

To keep the bat balloon floating through the air for as long as possible

Number of players

2 or More

Equipment

Black balloons
Optional: glow in the dark paint or white paint

Set up

Inflate the balloons and decorate with the paint.

Place chairs in a circle.

How to play

Hit the balloon into the air to get the game started. The children need to keep hitting the balloon to keep it in hte air. During the game, the children should remain seated at all times.

If the balloon hits the ground, the game ends and a new round starts.

Winning the game

There are no winners and losers in this verions of bat volleyball. Everyone gets to have fun.

Variations

Using two different colors of balloons, such as orange and black, play them at the same time. Give the group 10 points to start off with. If the orange balloon stays in the air longer than the black one, the group loses a point. If and when the group reaches zero, they have to stand up and do something like flap their arms like a bat, before starting the game over again.

Use a stopwatch to see how long the balloon stays in the air. Keep track of the times on the blackboard and see if the kids can improve their bests times!

For older groups you can divide the kids in half and have the chairs in two facing rows rather than a circle.

For home parties, decorate the balloons with glow in the dark paint and have the kids play with the lights off.
